There has been a definite slow down in activity in May compared with April.
Changes Done, and Work In Progress
Other than minor maintenance, no work has been done on the web site this month.
There had been plans to develop a series of short video tutorials on using, and contributing to, the web site. These are now permanently shelved, since there has been no expression of interest. There are two other web sites under my management that are somewhat related to Lyceum’s site, and I am entertaining the thought of developing the video tutorials for one or the other of these. If that happens, the tutorials will be made available to Lyceum as well.
The web site is stable. The mailing list situation remains stagnant, however I anticipate that by September or October either the problems Yahoo is having will be fixed or it will become more feasible to move the mailing list to a more suitable host.
It should be noted that there has been a closed group Facebook page using the Lyceum of Trees name since 2009, with about 80 participants. Although this page uses the “Lyceum of Trees” name, it is not part of the Lyceum of Trees corporate organization, and Lyceum of Trees has no authority or responsibility with regard to it. One hopes that anyone wanting to communicate to all of Lyceum will use Lyceum’s own web pages and mailing lists in addition to, or in place of, the Facebook page, since postings to the Facebook page reach less than half the Lyceum membership.
